E&TC vs ECE is mostly institutional naming — students waste energy debating which is "better" instead of building. Recruiters hiring embedded, telecom, VLSI, or software-adjacent roles look at projects and internships, not the extra letter in the degree title. If your portfolio is empty, neither label saves you; if you have a RF/networking lab, an embedded product, or a solid software project, both labels work.
