Data Science

Degree track focused on analytics, statistical thinking, and data products.

Where this leads

The confusion, addressed honestly

The myth is that Data Science equals Kaggle medals and flashy neural nets — so students ignore SQL, messy data, and stakeholder questions. Analyst and data-engineering fresher roles often hire faster than "ML engineer," and they care whether you can clean a real dataset, write queries, and turn a finding into a decision. A dashboard with no question answered is decoration; a short analysis that changed a club/hostel/business choice is evidence. Keep ML as a tool when the problem needs it, not as identity. Outcomes change when your portfolio shows judgment on imperfect data.

Role paths

AI Engineer

Builds AI features — prompts, retrieval, evaluation, and safe product integration.

Analyst Consultant

Structured problem-solving for clients — research, models, and recommendations.

Analytics Engineer

Builds trusted analytics tables and metrics layers for the business.

Associate Sales Engineer

Bridges product and buyers — demos, technical Q&A, and solution mapping.

Associate Scrum Master

Supports agile ceremonies, blockers, and delivery rhythm for engineering teams.

Associate Solutions Architect

Maps customer problems to technical architectures and tradeoffs.

Business Analyst

Translates business needs into requirements, workflows, and measurable outcomes.

Cloud Engineer

Builds and operates workloads on public cloud with cost and reliability in mind.

Content Engineer

Builds structured learning or knowledge content for technical audiences.

Cybersecurity Engineer

Hardens applications and infrastructure against real attack patterns.

Data Analyst

Turns raw data into dashboards, insights, and decisions stakeholders can use.

Data Engineer

Builds reliable pipelines that move and transform data for analytics and ML.

Data Intern

Internship supporting datasets, analysis, or ML experiments.

Data Scientist

Frames problems, builds models, and communicates uncertainty to stakeholders.

DevOps Engineer

Keeps shipping reliable — CI/CD, monitoring, infra as code, incident hygiene.

Frontend Developer

Implements product UI with accessibility, performance, and design-system discipline.

Full-stack Developer

Builds product features across frontend and backend — APIs, UI, and shipping to production.

Graduate Engineer Trainee

Campus-hire rotational or team-assigned role for fresh graduates learning production systems.

Growth Engineer

Ships product experiments and instrumentation that move growth metrics.

Integration Engineer

Connects products and systems across APIs, protocols, and operational realities.

IT Support Analyst

Resolves user and infra issues — tickets, imaging, networking basics, escalation.

Junior Database Administrator

Helps keep databases available, backed up, and reasonably performant.

Junior Software Engineer

Entry software role shipping features under mentorship — bugs, APIs, and small product slices.

Machine Learning Engineer

Productionizes models — training pipelines, evaluation, and serving.

Mobile App Developer

Builds native or cross-platform mobile apps from UI to store release basics.

NLP Engineer

Works on text/speech understanding and generation systems.

Observability Engineer

Builds metrics, logs, and traces so teams can see and fix production issues.

Product Analyst

Measures product funnels, experiments, and feature impact with data.

Product Support Engineer

Debugs customer issues deeply and feeds product improvements upstream.

Project Coordinator

Tracks timelines, risks, and dependencies so engineering delivery stays visible.

Prompt Engineer

Designs prompts, evals, and workflows that make LLM features reliable.

QA Engineer

Finds defects early through test plans, automation, and product risk thinking.

Release Engineer

Owns build pipelines, release checklists, and safe rollout mechanics.

Research Intern

Supports experiments, literature, and prototypes in academic or industry labs.

Security Analyst

Monitors threats, triages alerts, and hardens systems against common attacks.

Site Reliability Engineer

Improves reliability with SLOs, automation, and incident response discipline.

Software Engineer

Builds and maintains production software across services, clients, or platforms.

Software Engineering Intern
