What recruiters actually look for

Campus QA hiring rarely cares how many manual test cases you listed — it cares whether you can break a flow and write a bug someone else can reproduce in five minutes. Clear repro steps, expected vs actual, environment, and severity beat “tested login module” on a résumé. Automation helps for SDET tracks, but a Selenium script that only clicks happy paths without asserting failures is wasted effort. Product and service companies both probe for hostile-user thinking: network drops, 500s, double-submit. Show one project or internship ticket where you found a real defect and drove a fix.
