The persistent myth is that IT is "lesser CSE," so students either undersell themselves or over-index on proving they're "as good as CS." In campus drives, many IT grads land the same SDE and support-engineering roles as CSE peers — recruiters rarely block you for the branch label alone. What does block offers is a thin portfolio: LMS tutorials, no Git history, and no story of something that broke and got fixed. One end-to-end app, a networking/cloud lab with notes, or an internship ticket trail is stronger evidence than arguing about curriculum differences.
